    Home to the Mira Costa Mustangs, this section of Manhattan Beach is named for the public high school-Mira Costa. This energetic friendly neighborhood is often bustling with students walking to and from school, but its wide streets and perfectly maintained sidewalks make it a safe venture for the kids. The hilly streets afford opportunities for ocean or city views in some areas of this section in East Manhattan Beach. Larger lots are found here too, typically 50×150, with the average home size around 3,500 square feet. However, the Mira Costa section is home to many ‘Manhattan mansions’ spanning 10,000+ square feet on over 20,000 square foot lots. Drawing buyers here is the opportunity to buy larger homes than almost anywhere else in Manhattan Beach. This is also paired with the added bonus of a yard in which most homes include. In fact, due to the significant set back from the street, these homes often enjoy front and side yards as well. Here, sport courts and swimming pools are common, as well as space for outdoor living areas and al fresco dining spaces. Meanwhile, meticulously manicured lawns are a mainstay in this neighborhood, and are enjoyed by passerby’s making the short trek to the beach, parks or schools. The Mira Costa section is bordered by Manhattan Beach Boulevard, Sepulveda, Artesia, and Aviation. Therefore, wherever one is positioned in this section, the freeways are easily accessible for those commuters traveling north or south for work. Also bordering this section are heaps of restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities. Like the famous Rinaldi’s Deli, or Two Guns Coffee shop, known for the flat white, on Sepulveda; both of which are neighborhood institutions. While the teen center and Manhattan Heights tennis and basketball courts that run along Manhattan Beach Boulevard, allow locals great options for sports and recreational activities. Kids here have the luxury of attending excellent California Distinguished Schools. The local elementary school is Pennekamp. Just across Manhattan Beach Boulevard is the middle school MBMS, and as previously noted, Mira Costa is the public high school. A tremendous benefit to buying in this section is the close proximity to the high school, middle school and elementary as traffic during school drop off and pickup hours can be hectic so walkability for middle schoolers and teens is a great perk to the Mira Costa section.
