Covering approximately 15 blocks from east to west and 40 blocks from north to south, the cozy 1.5 square miles offer any homeowner the right to boast of close proximity to the beach, and the lively Hermosa Pier. Well-known for great restaurants and fun bars, the Pier is an oversized walk street lined with palm trees and hotspots enjoyed by locals and tourists alike. Famous Pier Avenue runs from the Pacific Ocean to Sepulveda and is dotted with boutiques, surf shops, and cafes. Cruise up from the beach for a bite of lunch at Gum Tree before meeting friends for a wine tasting at Uncorked Wine Shop on a sunny afternoon; just a few of the many diverse shops along the avenue.
The city of Hermosa is made up of three sections; the Sand Section, Hermosa Valley, and East Hermosa/Hermosa Hills. The Sand and Hermosa Valley sections both being west of Sepulveda are ideal for an easy jaunt to the beach. Meanwhile, East Hermosa/Hermosa Hills are just the other side of Sepulveda, and most homes enjoy great ocean views and are mere minutes from the sand.
Hermosa is also known for its great parks, with eight scattered throughout this small community. The sprawling Valley Park is known for its grassy green rolling hills and great play structures. Also, centrally located on Pier Avenue are tennis courts and the skate park beloved by local kids.
Like Manhattan Beach, the Green Belt runs all the way through Hermosa, and is a great place for exercising or walking dogs. Made up of mulch, grass, trees and flowers this peaceful walking path is less crowded than the strand, and those wanting a more natural trail experience.
